Should I get my PC repaired, or just buy a new one?

It really depends on what type of computer you have, how old it is, and what is broken. A good rule of thumb is, if a computer is less than 5 years old, you should probably look into getting it fixed (and perhaps upgraded). If you purchased the machine over 5 years ago, it may be time to trade in your old PC.

Sometimes, however, if the problem is minor, it is much cheaper to fix the issue and keep using the computer, even if the computer is over 3 years old. As technology advances, the parts in your PC become less expensive to replace. For example, a part that cost $200 two years ago, might only be $35 (or less) in today's market.

Just an update to let you know that my computer is still ticking like a champ with no problems. This is the longest I've ever owned a computer without experiencing any downtime. When I upgrade my home office computer, I'll definitely call you first.

After several bad experiences with store-bought computers, your company built me a machine that didn't cost a lot but would've cost a lot more at the store and performs better than those ever did.
